ReadyWrap®

Browse our full range of ReadyWrap® adjustable compression garments from Lohmann & Rauscher. Designed as an easy-to-use alternative to traditional compression bandaging, ReadyWrap® makes it simple to achieve clinically effective compression for lymphoedema, chronic oedema, and venous conditions. The adjustable VELCRO® brand strap system allows patients to manage their compression therapy independently at home — not just today, but for life. Available for lower and upper limbs including calf, thigh, foot, knee, and arm garments.

What is ReadyWrap®?

ReadyWrap® is an innovative range of adjustable compression wraps developed by Lohmann & Rauscher for patients with venous and lymphatic conditions. Unlike traditional compression bandaging or hosiery, ReadyWrap® uses a system of overlapping straps with VELCRO® brand fasteners that patients can easily apply, adjust, and remove themselves — dramatically reducing dependence on healthcare professionals and empowering self-care.

The garments feature short-stretch (inelastic) properties that mimic traditional lymphoedema bandaging, delivering therapeutic working pressure during activity and comfortable low resting pressure at rest. This makes ReadyWrap® ideal for daytime wear, nighttime use, and during both high and low activity levels.

Who is ReadyWrap® For?

ReadyWrap® is designed for patients transitioning from intensive lymphoedema therapy into long-term self-management, as well as those who find traditional compression hosiery difficult to apply or uncomfortable to wear. It's particularly beneficial for:

  • Patients with lymphoedema (primary or secondary)
  • Those with chronic oedema or venous oedema
  • Patients managing lipoedema
  • People with venous leg ulcers or a history of ulceration
  • Patients who struggle with elastic compression stockings due to limited dexterity, grip strength, or mobility
  • Those whose limb size fluctuates throughout the day
  • Caregivers applying compression to patients

ReadyWrap® Product Range

The ReadyWrap® system offers modular garments that can be used individually or combined for complete limb coverage:

Lower Limb Garments:

  • ReadyWrap® Foot Contour — Adjustable straps contour comfortably around the dorsum of the foot and ankle, ideal for moderate to severe foot swelling. Available in regular and long lengths.
  • ReadyWrap® Calf — The core lower leg garment featuring a blocked support spine for structural integrity. Includes a complimentary liner. Available in average and tall lengths.
  • ReadyWrap® Knee — Designed for patella swelling or as a bridge piece between calf and thigh units for seamless full-leg compression without gaps.
  • ReadyWrap® Thigh — For swelling from the knee to the groin. Features a proximal strap that accommodates both straight and conical thigh shapes. Available in average and tall lengths.
  • ReadyWrap® Toes — Individual toe compression for patients who require digit coverage.

Upper Limb Garments:

  • ReadyWrap® Arm — Adjustable compression for arm lymphoedema, commonly experienced following breast cancer treatment.
  • ReadyWrap® Gauntlet — Hand and wrist compression that can be worn alone or with the arm piece for complete upper limb coverage.

Accessories:

  • ReadyWrap® Extender Strap — For limbs that don't quite fit standard measurements, providing a more customised fit.
  • ReadyWrap® Liners — Included complimentary with foot, calf, knee, and thigh pieces. Worn underneath the wrap to protect skin and retain wound dressings. Contains no additional compression.

Key Features & Benefits

ReadyWrap® has been designed with both patients and clinicians in mind:

  • Easy self-application — Colour-coded tri-colour strapping system makes donning simple. Just match the coloured straps together and you're done.
  • Single-handed donning — Front-fastening design enables patients to apply the wrap independently, even with limited mobility.
  • Adjustable compression — 50% overlapping straps prevent gapping and allow patients to adjust compression as limb volume changes throughout the day.
  • Short-stretch properties — Mimics traditional lymphoedema bandaging with high working pressure during activity and low resting pressure for comfort.
  • Blocked spine construction — Reduces stretch and improves structural support to maintain garment form during all-day wear.
  • Low-profile design — Allows patients to wear their usual footwear.
  • Reusable — Can be washed and reused for up to six months, reducing ongoing costs.
  • Comfortable and breathable — Soft fabric suitable for prolonged wear.

Clinical Evidence & NHS Use

ReadyWrap® has demonstrated positive outcomes in clinical studies for both leg ulcer and lymphoedema patients. Research shows the system is effective in managing recurrent swelling and ulceration, with the overlapping strap design helping to reduce and control oedema even as limb circumference changes.

The wraps offer significant cost savings compared to traditional compression bandaging through reduced materials usage, quicker application times, and fewer clinic visits. Many NHS trusts now use ReadyWrap® as part of their leg ulcer and lymphoedema treatment pathways.

How to Use ReadyWrap®

ReadyWrap® garments are designed for easy application:

  1. If using a liner, put this on first to protect the skin
  2. Position the wrap around the limb with the spine at the back
  3. Secure the straps using the colour-coded system — simply match colours together
  4. Check compression by inserting your index, middle, and ring fingers between the straps. If they don't fit comfortably, the straps may be too tight.

Garments can be loosened at night for comfort and reapplied in the morning. For patients with fluctuating limb volume, straps can be adjusted throughout the day as needed.

Care Instructions

Hand wash ReadyWrap® in warm water with a drop of non-bio detergent. Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or other laundry additives. Lay the garment flat to dry — do not wring, machine dry, or iron. With proper care, ReadyWrap® garments are guaranteed for six months of use.

Combining with Other L&R Products

For comprehensive lymphoedema management, ReadyWrap® can be used alongside other Lohmann & Rauscher products, including ActiLymph® compression hosiery for maintenance therapy, Cellona® padding for limb reshaping, and Debrisoft® for wound bed preparation.

Important Considerations

ReadyWrap® is not suitable for everyone. Contraindications include untreated infection (such as cellulitis) and an ankle circumference of less than 18cm unless padding is used. As with all compression systems, caution is required for patients with arterial disease or diabetes. If you experience pain, reduced colour, or numbness in your extremities after application, remove the garment and consult your healthcare provider.

We recommend being assessed and measured by a suitably trained healthcare professional before starting ReadyWrap® therapy, particularly if you're new to compression or have existing medical conditions.
