After treatment, the discomfort doesn't always stop

Breast and trunk lymphoedema can develop weeks, months or even years after surgery. Finding a bra that actually helps (rather than making things worse) can feel impossible.

😔

Swelling that won't settle

Your breast, chest wall or underarm area feels heavy and swollen. Some days it's bearable; other days it affects everything you do.

😴

Restless, uncomfortable nights

The discomfort gets worse when you lie down. Finding a sleeping position that doesn't aggravate the swelling is a nightly struggle.

👗

Nothing fits right any more

Regular bras dig in, ride up or press on sensitive areas. Post-surgical bras can feel restrictive and clinical. You just want something that feels normal.

Left unmanaged, lymphoedema can worsen over time leading to increased swelling, skin changes, and greater discomfort. Early, comfortable compression makes a real difference.

Silver Wave Micro-Massage Technology

A patented wave-textured fabric that gently massages the skin as you move, promoting lymphatic drainage throughout the day and night.

83% Polyamide 17% Elastane Silver ion bacteriostatic

A bra designed around lymphoedema — not in spite of it

  • Micro-massaging fabric for fluid drainage

The wave-textured surface gently promotes lymphatic return in the breast and underarm area, helping to ease swelling as you wear it.

  • No hooks, no seams in reinforced areas

Easy to put on and take off even with limited arm mobility after surgery. Nothing to dig in or irritate sensitive skin.

  • Comfortable enough for day and night

Rated "excellent" or "good" for comfort by 100% of participants in a clinical audit. Many women wore it overnight for continued relief.

  • Silver ion yarn for lasting freshness

Bacteriostatic properties counteract bacteria and prevent odours — ideal for round-the-clock wear.

A bra you'll actually want to wear

No clinical look. No medical feel. The Silver Wave Skin Bra is designed to be worn with confidence: at home, at work, at the gym, or in bed.

A note on cost: For best results, most women use two garments: one to wear while the other washes. At around £82-£94 VAT-exempt per bra, that's roughly £164-£188 per year. Typically less than what's spent trialling sports bras and garments that don't address the underlying problem.

We're here to help you

No prescription is needed. The Solidea Silver Wave Skin Bra is a medical-grade compression garment that you can purchase directly. However, if you're unsure about whether compression is right for your situation, we'd always recommend speaking with your GP or lymphoedema specialist first.
It's very important to measure carefully using the Solidea size chart, which is available on the product page. The cup fabric is highly elastic and adapts to different breast shapes and volumes. If you're between sizes or need guidance, our customer service team is happy to help you find the best fit.
Yes. In the clinical audit, half the participants wore the bra regularly overnight and reported improvements in morning swelling. The lightweight fabric and seamless design make it comfortable enough for round-the-clock wear. The audit concluded it is safe and suitable for both day and night use.
The bra works well for a range of sizes. In the clinical audit, some women with larger cup sizes (above D) found the daytime support less adequate for active tasks, but many still chose to wear it consistently because of its comfort and effectiveness, particularly overnight. If support during exercise is important to you, this is worth bearing in mind.
Yes. The standard Silver Wave Skin Bra was worn by women post-mastectomy in the clinical audit, with positive results for chest wall and back lymphoedema. If you wear a breast form or prosthesis, you may prefer the Silver Wave Secret Skin Bra — it has the same micro-massaging fabric and seamless comfort, with built-in pockets to hold your prosthesis securely in place.
For hygiene reasons, compression garments cannot be returned once opened. That's why getting the right size is so important. Please check the size chart carefully before ordering, and don't hesitate to call us on 0800 195 0960 for free sizing advice.

Not yet. A Drug Tariff application has been submitted. For now, direct purchase with VAT exemption is the most affordable route, with garments starting from around £85.97 VAT-exempt. If you have a qualifying condition like lymphoedema, you can purchase VAT-free at checkout with no paperwork needed.
Sports bras contain and compress, but they don't promote lymphatic drainage. Silver Wave uses a patented 3D wave knit that creates micro-pressure zones as you move, actively stimulating lymph flow. Sports bras are not tested as medical devices and can restrict drainage rather than encourage it.
If you have a chronic condition or disability (including lymphoedema), you may be eligible to purchase this bra VAT-free. You can declare your eligibility using our VAT relief form. This can make a meaningful difference to the overall cost.
