The ActiLymph® sleeve is worn on the arm, not the leg, and it works at European Class 2 compression, 23-32mmHg. Lohmann & Rauscher make it for the ongoing management of lymphoedema and swelling in the arm. The fabric is latex-free.
The compression level is listed as firm. European classes sit higher than the British Standard classes of the same number, so a European Class 2 garment applies more pressure than a UK Class 2 one. The class and size of an arm sleeve are normally decided by a lymphoedema nurse or another clinician after measuring the arm, rather than picked from a chart at home.
A pair of household rubber gloves makes the sleeve easier to grip and helps you ease it up the arm without snagging the knit.
It's important to get the right fit when it comes to compression garments. That's why Daylong Shop recommends that you contact a nurse, GP or pharmacist to ensure that compression hosiery is appropriate for you. If so, you will then need to be measured in order to obtain the correct size which will ensure that the garment works correctly and feels comfortable.
Compression hosiery may not be suitable for everyone. If you have diabetes, circulation problems, reduced sensation, fragile skin, heart failure or a diagnosed vascular condition, speak to a healthcare professional before using compression.
