Varisan® Top Class 2 Below Knee

RAL Class 2 firm compression with a reinforced heel and toe

The Varisan® Top Class 2 Below Knee is a firm compression stocking knitted in Italy by Cizeta Medicali. It gives RAL Class 2 graduated compression, 23-32mmHg, firmest at the ankle and easing off towards the knee, and is designed for the management of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. The circular-knit fabric is opaque and soft against the skin.

Compression and construction

  • May help reduce swelling and ease heavy, aching legs during daily wear
  • RAL Class 2 graduated compression, 23-32mmHg at the ankle
  • Certified to RAL-GZ 387, the German quality mark for medical compression hosiery
  • Circular-knit soft-touch yarn, opaque and breathable
  • Reinforced heel and toe, with the heel shaped to follow the line of the foot
  • Latex free, with an elastic top band to hold the stocking in place

Sizes, lengths and toe styles

Five sizes, 1 to 5, in Normal and Short lengths, so the stocking can be matched to calf length as well as leg circumference. Pick Closed Toe or Open Toe, in Beige or Black. Open Toe leaves the toes free, which helps if the toes are sensitive or if the stocking is worn under a shoe that pinches. Put the stocking on first thing in the morning, before swelling has had a chance to build up.

It's important to get the right fit when it comes to compression garments. That's why Daylong Shop recommends that you contact a nurse, GP or pharmacist to ensure that compression hosiery is appropriate for you. If so, you will then need to be measured in order to obtain the correct size which will ensure that the garment works correctly and feels comfortable.

The material is really quite thick, is also described as anti allergic. These socks are a necessary evil for me and many other people so something a little more wearer friendly and attractive would be nice. I have tried many brands and whilst these socks do the job compressing the veins my legs itched like crazy! Hope the material softens a little with wear and washing.
