SIGVARIS® Style SEMITRANSPARENT Class 1 Thigh with Knobbed Grip Top

Semi-transparent Class 1 hold-up with a knobbed grip top

A thigh hold-up knitted fine enough to read as ordinary sheer hosiery. SIGVARIS® Style SEMITRANSPARENT gives RAL Class 1 graduated compression (18-21mmHg), firmest at the ankle and easing up the leg, designed for the management of varicose veins, mild oedema and tired, aching legs. The knit follows the shape of the leg and thigh rather than sitting loose over it.

The grip top

The top band is set with silicone knobs that hold the stocking at the top of the thigh, so no suspender belt is needed. Put it on over clean, dry Skin, as lotion or oil on the thigh will stop the band gripping as it should. Watch your nails and rings while you ease it up, because a fine knit like this snags easily.

Compression, sizes and colours

SIGVARIS® Group has made compression hosiery since 1864. Sizing follows their own chart, with each leg measured separately.

  • RAL Class 1, 18-21mmHg, moderate compression
  • Latex free
  • Closed Toe or Open Toe
  • Sizes XX-Small, X-Small, Small, Medium, Large and X-Large
  • Three leg lengths: Short, Normal and Long
  • Black or Skin

It's important to get the right fit when it comes to compression garments. That's why Daylong Shop recommends that you contact a nurse, GP or pharmacist to ensure that compression hosiery is appropriate for you. If so, you will then need to be measured in order to obtain the correct size which will ensure that the garment works correctly and feels comfortable.

I have only worn these compression stockings for 1 day but was very impressed with how easy they were to put on, using the slippery sock supplied. They stayed in position all day, were very comfortable and I was not aware that I was wearing them at all.

Slipping down a bit already- day 2. Not sure if it is OK to use Coltex glue on the silicone part- instructions don't say.
