SIGVARIS® Style OPAQUE Class 2 Below Knee is a stocking with a dense, opaque knit, so it reads as ordinary hosiery rather than a medical garment. Compression is AFNOR Class 2 (15-20mmHg), graduated so it sits firmest at the ankle and eases up the calf, and the stocking is designed for the management of varicose veins. The top finishes just below the knee.
AFNOR is the French compression standard, so the class number does not map directly onto British Standard classes. The figure to compare is the ankle pressure, 15-20mmHg.
Knitted from 78% polyamide and 22% elastane, with double-covered inlaid yarns that SIGVARIS® describes as helping the stocking glide on and off. Three colours: Beige Rose, Black and Marine. Put the stocking on first thing in the morning, before the leg has had time to swell, as it goes on more easily then.
It's important to get the right fit when it comes to compression garments. That's why Daylong Shop recommends that you contact a nurse, GP or pharmacist to ensure that compression hosiery is appropriate for you. If so, you will then need to be measured in order to obtain the correct size which will ensure that the garment works correctly and feels comfortable.
